Shop Worm Gear Winches

A worm gear winch is a type of mechanical device used to lift or pull heavy loads using a threaded screw called a worm gear. This gear rotates to drive a toothed wheel (gear), creating a strong mechanical advantage that allows the winch to exert a great amount of force. Worm gear winches are known for their ability to hold loads securely without slipping, making them ideal for applications where safety and reliability are crucial, such as in industrial settings, off-road vehicles, and marine operations.

 

The definition of winch & hoist varies greatly between industries, countries, and regulatory requirements. At OneHydraulics, a Winch is primarily used to drag or pull a load and a Hoist is primarily used to lift or raise a load. Ultimately, the customer is responsible for ensuring the product meets the industry, country, and regulatory requirements for the product in the intended application.
