The miniBOOSTER HC3-A hydraulic intensifier, also called a hydraulic pressure booster, is a compact NG6 (D03) stacking-manifold unit that uses an existing low-pressure hydraulic supply to generate and maintain higher pressure at port A. The HC3-A is the A-model configuration without an integrated dump valve, so high pressure must be relieved externally, typically through a properly sized pilot-operated check valve. This arrangement is especially useful with large-bore hydraulic cylinders that generate high return flow better handled outside the booster. Available HC3 intensification ratios range from 1.2:1 to 25:1, with inlet pressures from 20 to 207 bar (290 to 3,000 psi) and maximum outlet pressure up to 500 bar (7,250 psi), depending on the selected ratio. Applications include hydraulic workholding and clamping, machine tools, support cylinders, presses, pressure-testing equipment and industrial automation systems using NG6/D03 modular valves.
The HC3-A integrates localized high pressure directly into a compact valve stack, reducing external piping, system footprint and the need for a separate high-pressure pump or power unit. It automatically stops intensifying when the required pressure is reached and restarts if pressure falls because of fluid consumption or leakage. Warning: The HC3-A has no integrated dump valve or internal means of releasing trapped high pressure. The circuit must include a correctly designed and appropriately sized external pressure-relief method. Never assume the high-pressure side has been depressurized; verify zero pressure with a properly rated gauge before service. Select the intensification ratio using maximum inlet pressure, return backpressure, required outlet pressure and flow demand, and ensure the manifold, valves, hoses, fittings, seals and actuators are rated for the maximum possible intensified pressure. Installation must be performed by qualified hydraulic personnel.
