Shop Hydraulic Intensifier Boosters

Hydraulic intensifiers, also called hydraulic pressure boosters, increase the pressure available from an existing low-pressure hydraulic system without requiring a separate high-pressure power unit. A hydraulic intensifier uses an oscillating pumping action to convert inlet flow into higher outlet pressure, automatically stopping when the required pressure is reached and restarting as needed to compensate for minor leakage or fluid consumption. These boosters are commonly used for hydraulic workholding and clamping, machine tools, presses, pressure testing, bolt tensioning, torque tools, injection molding, industrial automation, mobile equipment, rescue equipment, and other machinery requiring localized high pressure.


A hydraulic pressure intensifier provides a compact, efficient way to increase force or torque while allowing much of the surrounding hydraulic circuit to operate at lower pressure. This can reduce equipment size, piping requirements, energy use, noise, and the cost of installing a dedicated high-pressure pump. Warning: Hydraulic intensifiers can generate extremely high and potentially dangerous pressure. The intensification ratio must be selected according to the available inlet pressure, return-line backpressure, required outlet pressure, flow demand, and maximum pressure rating of the selected model. All hoses, tubing, fittings, valves, gauges, manifolds, seals, cylinders, and downstream components must be rated for the maximum possible outlet pressure and compatible with the hydraulic fluid. Installation, adjustment, and service should be performed only by qualified hydraulic personnel with the system shut down, isolated, and completely depressurized. Always verify model-specific specifications and circuit requirements before ordering or operation.
