Description
The NPT Female to High Pressure Male OneXtreme Adapters are precision-engineered conversion fittings designed to connect NPT (National Pipe Taper) threaded systems to coned-and-threaded high pressure connections in demanding hydraulic, chemical injection, and high-pressure test applications. The NPT side features a tapered thread design that seals through thread interference and requires the use of a high-quality PTFE tape or thread sealant, while the high pressure side utilizes a 60-degree cone and thread connection to create a reliable metal-to-metal seal for ultra-high-pressure performance.
Manufactured from cold worked 316 stainless steel, these adapters provide exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and durability in harsh operating environments, with special materials available upon request to meet specific application requirements. NPT connections can handle pressures up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar) and temperatures up to 400°F (204°C), though performance may vary based on size, media, and installation conditions; when combining connection types, overall system capability must always be based on the lower-rated side and associated components.
NOTE: Proper sealing method and installation are critical. NPT threads require appropriate sealant and are susceptible to galling, while coned-and-threaded connections require undamaged sealing surfaces and correct torque. Repeated assembly can degrade NPT thread integrity, and mismatched or improperly installed components can result in leaks or catastrophic failure.
