Description

The NPT Male to BSP Male OneXtreme Adapters are precision-engineered conversion fittings designed to connect NPT (National Pipe Taper) threaded systems to BSPP (British Standard Parallel Pipe) connections in high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power applications. The NPT side features a tapered thread design that seals through thread interference and requires the use of a high-quality PTFE tape or thread sealant, while the BSPP side utilizes straight (parallel) threads that seal via a cone, O-ring, dowty seal, or gasket depending on the mating configuration, and may include an external cone.

Manufactured from cold worked 316 stainless steel, these adapters provide exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and durability in demanding environments, with special materials available upon request to meet specific application requirements. NPT connections can handle pressures up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar) and temperatures up to 400F (204C), though performance may vary based on size, media, and installation conditions, and overall system capability must always be based on the lower-rated connection and associated components.

NOTE: Proper thread identification and sealing method are critical. NPT threads require appropriate sealant and are susceptible to galling, while BSPP connections rely on correct sealing interfaces. Repeated assembly can degrade NPT thread integrity, and mismatched threads or improper installation can result in leaks or catastrophic failure.
