Description

The NPT Male to NPT Female OneXtreme Adapters are high-performance threaded fittings designed to connect, extend, or adapt NPT (National Pipe Taper) components in hydraulic and fluid power systems requiring secure, leak-resistant connections. NPT fittings feature a tapered thread design that seals through thread interference, creating a tighter seal as the connection is properly tightened, and are commonly used in high-pressure applications up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar) and temperatures up to 400F (204C), depending on size and operating conditions. Manufactured from cold worked 316 stainless steel, these adapters offer excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and durability in demanding environments, with special materials available upon request to meet specific application requirements. NPT connections require the use of high-quality PTFE tape or thread sealant to achieve proper sealing, and performance may vary based on pressure, temperature, media, thread quality, and installation practices. NOTE: Proper installation is critical. NPT threads must be correctly engaged with appropriate sealant, and over-tightening or repeated assembly can cause thread deformation and reduced sealing performance. Using only PTFE tape may require lubrication to prevent galling, and mismatched or improperly installed components can result in leaks or catastrophic failure.
