Description
Our Series 6900-O-SS Straight Male ORB x Female NPSM Swivel hydraulic adapters, made from stainless steel, combine the ORB and NPSM thread types to create secure, leak-resistant connections in hydraulic systems. ORB (SAE Straight Thread O-ring Boss) fittings feature a male straight UNF thread with an O-ring that creates a leak-tight seal when compressed into a chamfered surface on the female port. The NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical) side features a straight, non-tapered thread with a 30° inverted seat on the female, and a 30° chamfer on the male component. This creates a mechanical seal when the male and female parts are compressed together. NPTF and NPSM threads are similar but differ in how they seal: NPTF deforms the thread for a dry seal, while NPSM relies on compression for a secure connection. Care should be taken when selecting the appropriate thread type to ensure compatibility and avoid leaks. These adapters offer versatile, reliable sealing in fluid power systems.
