Description
The Series 6401-O-SS Straight Male ORB x Male NPT hydraulic adapters, made of high-quality stainless steel, provide reliable, leak-free connections for fluid and gas transfer in hydraulic systems. The male ORB (SAE Straight Thread O-ring Boss) connection uses a straight UNF thread with an O-ring, creating a leak-tight seal when compressed against a smooth, flat surface with a chamfer, as recommended by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for medium and high-pressure systems. The male NPT (National Pipe Taper) connection uses tapered threads to form a metal-to-metal seal, ideal for single assembly applications. The nominal pipe size can be identified by measuring the thread diameter and subtracting 1/4". NPT connections are not recommended for frequent disassembly due to potential wear on the threads.
