Description
The NPT Hex Plugs OneXtreme Adapters are high-performance threaded plugs designed to securely seal unused NPT (National Pipe Taper) ports in hydraulic and fluid power systems. Featuring a hex-head design for easier installation and removal with standard tools, these plugs utilize tapered NPT threads that create a secure seal through thread interference, allowing for tighter sealing as the connection is properly tightened.
Suitable for high-pressure applications up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar) and temperatures up to 400°F (204°C), depending on size and operating conditions, these plugs are manufactured from cold worked 316 stainless steel for exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and durability in demanding environments. OneXtreme NPT hex plugs require the use of high-quality PTFE tape or thread sealant to achieve proper sealing performance, with special materials available upon request to meet specific application requirements.
Warning: Proper installation is critical. NPT threads must be correctly engaged with appropriate sealant, and over-tightening or repeated assembly can cause thread deformation and reduced sealing performance; using only PTFE tape may require lubrication to prevent galling, and improperly installed components can result in leaks or system failure.
