These adapters feature male BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) threads, which are commonly used for creating a reliable, leak-free connection. BSPP connections use a captive seal made from metal-to-metal angled surfaces or a combination of metal-to-metal with an O-ring to ensure tight, leak-proof sealing. The female swivel BSPP fitting has a tapered nose and a flareless swivel, where the seal occurs on the cone seat of the male connector. BSPP is similar to but not interchangeable with NPSM and NPT due to differences in thread pitch and outer diameter. Thread sealant is recommended to ensure a secure connection. BSPP thread sizes are expressed in fractional dimensions, and "G" represents parallel threads, such as BSPP 1/4-19, also designated as G 1/4.
