Straight Male DIN (Light Duty and Heavy Duty) x Male BSPT hydraulic adapters are designed to connect DIN tube fittings with BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) male threads. BSPT connections are similar to NPT, but with slight differences in thread pitch, outer diameter, and thread form, requiring thread sealants for a secure connection. The sealing occurs by the distortion of threads and can be enhanced with a captive seal, which is created using metal-to-metal angled surfaces or a combination of metal and an O-ring. Light Duty DIN adapters are used in lower-pressure applications, with a thinner construction, while Heavy Duty DIN adapters are built for higher-pressure systems and feature a thicker, more robust design. DIN fittings, per ISO 8434-1 / DIN 2353 standards, have a 24° tapered throat on the male fitting, and the size is marked on the tube nut for easy identification. BSPT male adapters are compatible with both BSPP and BSPT female ports.
