Our Straight Male BSPT x Female BSPP hydraulic adapters are designed to connect BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) male threaded components to BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) female threaded ports in hydraulic systems. These adapters feature tapered threads on the male side (BSPT), which provide a leak-tight seal by deforming the threads when tightened, while the female BSPP side uses parallel threads for a more secure connection. Sealing occurs via metal-to-metal contact or a combination of metal-to-metal and an O-ring. Thread sealants are recommended to ensure a secure connection, as the thread forms are close but not identical to NPT (National Pipe Tapered). BSPT male adapters are compatible with both BSPT and BSPP female ports, and thread sizes are designated using fractional dimensions, with "R" for tapered threads (e.g., BSPT 1/4-19 is designated as R 1/4). These adapters are commonly used in industrial and hydraulic applications where secure, durable connections are necessary.
