The female side of the adapter features a 24° tapered throat angle, which is found inside the male threads, ensuring a tight seal when combined with the appropriate tube nut. The tube nut is tightened over the metric threads, compressing a ferrule or cutting ring to grip and secure the tube in place. These adapters are part of the DIN system, with a common thread pitch of 1.5mm, and they are classified into three pressure classes—LL for extra light duty, L for light duty, and S for heavy duty.
