Cut resistance is one of the most important factors when selecting a safety glove, and it is measured using ANSI/ISEA 105 standards, which rate gloves from A1 (low cut protection) to A9 (maximum cut protection). Lower levels like A2–A3 are ideal for light material handling and general assembly, while mid-range levels such as A4–A5 are commonly used for metal handling and more demanding tasks. Higher levels like A6 and above are designed for heavy-duty applications involving sharp or hazardous materials. Choosing the correct cut level ensures the right balance between protection and dexterity, helping keep workers safe without sacrificing productivity.
