The Series 6005 Straight Male ORFS x Male BSPP hydraulic adapters, made of carbon steel, are designed for use in hydraulic systems where leak prevention is crucial. These adapters feature ORFS (O-ring Face Seal) fittings, which include an O-ring at the face of the fitting to ensure a secure, leak-free seal. The O-ring, typically made from Buna-N or Viton, is seated in a groove on the male connection, and the seal is created by compressing the O-ring against the flat face of the mating ORFS fitting or tube. These fittings are made to SAE J1453 standards and are commonly used in high-pressure applications. Unlike the Series 6002, the Series 6005 adapters do not come with a washer or O-ring; if seals are required, the Series 6002 models, which include these components, should be used instead. The BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) male connections are similar to NPSM male fittings but with a different thread pitch and provide a mechanical seal through metal-to-metal contact or with the addition of an O-ring. These adapters are ideal for applications where a secure, leak-tight connection is necessary but additional sealing components are not required.
