The DIN fitting features a 24° tapered throat on the male side for secure assembly, while the BSPP male fitting uses parallel threads to create a seal via metal-to-metal or metal-to-O-ring contact. The BSPP connection is commonly used in high-pressure hydraulic systems, where thread sealing is achieved by compression and thread distortion. While similar to NPSM, BSPP is not interchangeable due to differences in thread pitch and dimensions. Thread sizes are marked with a "G" for parallel threads (e.g., BSPP 1/4-19 = G 1/4).
