The Series 5000 Straight Female NPT x Female NPT Rigid adapters in carbon steel are high-quality fittings designed to connect pipes using NPT (National Pipe Tapered) threads, a U.S. standard widely used for over 100 years. These tapered threads provide a reliable seal by deforming the metal threads as they tighten, ensuring effective fluid and gas transfer. NPT connections are ideal for single-assembly applications, offering a metal-to-metal seal, but are not suited for frequent disassembly. Over-tightening should be avoided, and using a thread sealant is recommended for optimal performance.
