The male DIN fitting has a 24° tapered throat inside, which, when combined with a metric thread, clearly identifies it as a DIN connection. To make a tube connection, a tube nut is tightened over the metric threads, compressing a ferrule or cutting ring to grip the tube, creating a secure seal. DIN fittings are categorized into three pressure classes: LL for extra light duty, L for light duty, and S for heavy duty. The tube size and series can be identified by markings on the tube nut, ensuring compatibility with the system.
